The Institute is ½ minute walk from Southend
Central Station, on the Fenchurch Street
London Southend line. Leave the station
and turn to the right; Clarence Road is immediately
visible on the left. You can also use the Liverpool
Street/Southend Victoria line, when you would
follow the signs to Town Centre, walk down High
Street and turn right into Cliff
town Road (10 minute walk, approx).
Accommodation

If you plan to stay overnight in
the area, there are many B&B's and small hotels

By Road

From North: From M25
take exit 29 (A127) and travel East for around 14 miles
then turn right onto the A129.
After 1 ½ miles you will arrive at a large roundabout
at Hadleigh. Turn left here,
onto the A13. Continue as at '**' below.
From South: leave the
M25 at exit 30 (A13)
and travel East. At the large roundabout called 'Saddlers
Farm' be sure to stay on the A13 this is at the
end of the dual carriageway. Soon, you will find the
junction with the A129
(another large roundabout, though smaller than Saddlers
Farm) at Hadleigh. Then
continue as at '**'
From West: Navigate to
the M25 and continue as
above.
From East: From Southend
on Sea, stay on A13 Westbound and turn left at Milton
Road, continuing as below.
** Stay on the A13 for approximately 5 ½ miles,
when you will arrive at Milton
Road traffic lights, with The
Cricketers public house on one corner, and a
large decorator's supplies shop on the corner facing
you. Turn right here, and follow the road, bearing to
the left at the 'No Entry' sign (about 500 yards). Stay
on this road, keeping parallel to the railway line on
the left at the mini roundabout, until you have to turn
right at SAKS Bar, again
because of a 'No Entry' in front of you. You are now
in Clarence Road and we
are about 30 yards down, on the left (No. 15), opposite
the Baptist Church. We do not have our own car park,
but there is plenty of 'pay and display' all day parking
immediately outside. It is worth noting that the car
parks, of which there are several, are about half the
price of 'on street' parking.
(There is a large NCP car park on
the left just before you turn into Clarence Road, where
all day parking is probably the cheapest alternative.)
