Why you need this training
Although Hypnotherapy is not about to be regulated anytime soon, the story is not the same for Psychotherapy; the upcoming regulations will mean that the term 'Psychotherapist' will be protected at law, in the same way that the title 'Psychiatrist' is. Only those therapists who have completed a bona fide recognised psychotherapy training course will be permitted to use the term 'Psychotherapist' in their professional capacity. This course has been inspected, approved, and accredited by the National Council of Psychotherapists and therefore confers the legal right to style yourself as a professional psychotherapist.*
Course Overview
If you are already qualified as a hypnotherapist, you might be eligible to join this course at Level 2 which is accredited as an Access Course - please contact us for details.
Level 1: This part of your training lasts for 12 months and consists of our Professional Practitioner Course in hypnotherapy, which includes much basic psychotherapy training within the course materials. Level 2: This section of the course is conducted over a period of one year and the classes are held on the second Monday of the month. It comprises a series of 9 intensive one day seminars and workshops; upon full completion you will receive your 'Advanced Therapy Diploma' and will be eligible for membership of The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy at full Member - MAPHP(Reg.) - status.
The classes cover such subjects as:
- Kinesiology for Learning
- Stress Management in Practice
- Analytical psychotherapy
- An introduction to Jungian analysis
- EFT and Hypnotherapy
- Cognitive Questioning Techniques
- NLP in Practice
- Working with personality-related issues
- Working 'online' and by telephone
To complete the course successfully, you will need to attend each one of the 9 classes and ensure that you have completed each section of the Student Portfolio that you will receive at the commencement of this second year. The completed portfolio will be fully assessed at the completion of your studies of Level 2.
If a class is missed or part of your work is not of a satisfactory level, you will need to complete that section of the course again the following year.
Level Three: This comprises two intensive specialist trainings:
- Psychosexual Dysfunction which will confer a 'Specialist' diploma
- SymbioDynamics™ up to Consultant level. This course also carries a separate certification, in addition to the 'Psychotherapy' diploma.
The Psychosexual Disorders specialist course is a one week training and you can find more details elsewhere on this site (Go there now). SymbioDynamics™ is a modern 'cutting edge' methodology that will allow you to work effectively at all levels, from individual coaching all the way up to corporate board rooms. This training is conducted via two two-day seminars, the first of which will take you to Registered Practitioner level, the second to Consultant. These trainings are run on a regular basis; you may elect to study them after you have completed the Level 2 training or concurrently with Level 2 if you prefer and if you feel you have the available time to do so.
Fees
There are several payment options:
- The cost of the full course is £4650.00 if paid in advance. Our unique fee structure is such that if you need to leave the course at any time for whatever reason, all we will require is one month notice and we will refund the balance of the course fees.
- If you are already qualified and wish to complete just Level 2 and Level 3, please contact us for details of price and availability
Payments may be spread over 20 months if paying by standing order or agreed regular credit card payment. Alternatively, you can pay for each Level separately as follows:
Level 1: 10 x £225.00 (£200.00 if taking advantage of any early booking option)
Level 2: 9 x £140.00
Level 3: Psychosexual Disorders £750.00; SymbioDynamics™ 2 x £267.00 (2 seminars)
Commencement Dates
Level 1 training is held at weekends and starts at a set time. The next course starts on Saturday, April 24th, 2010 and you cannot start other than on the first weekend. Your first step is to complete the student application form and either mail, email, or FAX it to the address shown on the form.
Class dates for Level 1 training 2010: Apr 24/25, May 22/23, June 26/27, Aug 21/22, Sept 25/26, Oct 23/24, Nov 27/28, December Recess, 2011: Jan 22/23, Feb 26/27
There is no specific start date for Level 2, since the training is 'modular'; the classes are always held on the second day of the month and you can start on any of the following: January; April; May; June; July; October; December. If you have to miss one seminar, you will need to complete it the following year in order to gain your certification.

SymbioDynamics Registered Consultant: (for previously qualified Practitioner level): Saturday & Sunday March 6th & 7th
SymbioDynamics Registered Practitioner: Saturday & Sunday September 4th & 5th 2010

The Level 1, 2 & 3 training offered here meets or surpasses the current criteria but revision of content may be carried out if necessary at any time.
