The Professional Practitioner Training Course

The Professional Practitioner Hypnotherapy Training Course is a fully professional training and complies with, or surpasses, the National Core Curriculum for Hypnotherapy training schools, on which the National Occupation Standards for Hypnotherapy is based. It was devised and written by the principal of the Essex Institute, Terence Watts, and is based on his many thousands of hours of successful work with hypnosis, hypnotherapy and hypnoanalysis. The classes for this course are held on one weekend every month for ten months and may be paid for individually so that there is no need for a large outlay at the beginning; not only that, but you will be able to start earning an income from providing hypnotherapy after you have completed the initial certification process at the end of your first six months study - the certification from the Essex Institute will allow you to get professional liability insurance at that time.

Course Outline
The course consists of 10 classes that will provide you with all the skills you need to work as a professional hypnotherapist, helping people to stop smoking, lose weight, cope with stress, anxiety and phobias... and a whole lot more.
The classes include a great deal of practice which is supervised by professional therapists so that by the time you qualify, getting people safely in and out of hypnosis is completely natural to you. There are assignments associated with each class as well, that will help you to absorb the theory and understanding of the use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy at deep enough level that you will feel as if you have 'owned' this knowledge for many years.

Some courses that claim to be 'complete' provide only half this amount of training, often at the expense of enough supervised practice - but at the Essex Institute, we ensure that your knowledge is complete enough for you to become a true professional hypnotherapist. In fact, you will become a 'Certificated Hypnotherapist' as soon as you successfully complete the mid-course assessment.

The course was designed and written by Terence Watts, a highly experienced teacher and therapist and one of the few hypnotherapy professionals to be admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. He is the Principal and Founder of the Essex Institute and continues to oversee the training as well as develop new courses for your further studies.
He is an International lecturer and was also actively involved in the creation of the National Occupation Standards for hypnotherapy and the Core Training Curriculum, as well as the regulatory process which came into force in December 2010.
His inimitiable and enthusiastic teaching style ensures that the student has a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring learning experience and leaves every lesson with a 'buzz'.
