Till now few people have understood what ME/CFS is, and exactly who it affects. The biomedical model is unable to explain it; sufferers strenuously deny it is psychological; so what is it?
This workshop is a journey of discovery for therapists and clients alike. Learning mind body medicine and using this unifying philosophy to treat clients with physical conditions, is a very powerful way of bypassing the dualistic cartesian reality that pervades modern medicine. Paradoxically it also removes the chagrin of ME or CFS (Myalgic Encephalitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) all being in the mind. Clients learn how to see themselves more wholesomely; not just as a physical and embarrassing problem that no one knows how to treat, but as a sentient human being that may be responding physically to, sometimes, years of unexpressed, or even unconscious, fear or guilt.

Course Format
Designed specifically for the professional therapist, this diploma course will teach you all you need to know to ethically promote yourself as a specialist in Myalgic Encephalitis and CHronic Fatigue Syndrome, an area where there is a distinct shortage of properly trained therapists. Everything you need to be able to work effectively with this distressing condition is included and a resource pack is included for reference where you need it.

The course assumes that you have an at least adequate knowledge of clinical practice, and hyphosis or hypnotic techniques will not be taught during the study week. A variety of techniques are used to resolve client difficulties and we will ensure that you are thoroughly conversant with all of them. In addition to this, the resource pack contains everything that is taught on the class and more.
At the end of the study week you will receive a multiple-choice, 'take home' exam to complete within one month. Once successful, you will receive a Diploma which clearly illustrates that you have completed a bona fide study course and will also be eligible for a free entry on the register of EICH-trained specialist practitioners.

Course Tutor
The tutor for this course is Jenny Lyn. Jenny graduated from Liverpool Polytechnic in 1987 later becoming a secondary school teacher after postgraduate studies, before qualifying as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. She holds a clinic at her local GP's surgery, teaches NHS mental health patients confidence building, hosts workshops and courses on self esteem and self awareness, and runs a busy private practice from her office at home.
She is currently giving lectures and talks to NHS professionals on Mental Health patients and how to reduce isolation and stigma. She has also written a paper on ME/CFS and its causes.
